My PASSION for basketball began at the age of 14. My older brother introduced me to the sport and little did I know that I would develop a career in this field. I’ve always had the dream of playing professionally and wouldn’t let failure ever get in my way. On my journey to becoming a professional I’ve had the opportunity to play amongst some of the greatest NBA players of all time including LeBron James, Amare Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler, Joel Anthony, Louis Amundson, Trevor Ariza and had David West as a counselor at the “Nike All-American camp. I’ve attended many camps but the most memorable experience was when I had the opportunity to be coached by and play against Michael Jordan at his basketball camp. That opportunity sealed my decision for this career choice.

My journey to becoming a professional began to take off while I attended Redondo Union High School where I won two CIF Championships and averaged 28ppg and 14rbds my senior year. Physically I had it all but lacked the DESIRE to be a student first. Instead of taking the hundreds of scholarships offered to me I went to a Junior college called Antelope Valley College and played 2 seasons. Both years I was awarded All-American and had many NBA teams scouting me. I met my wife at Antelope Valley College and began to look at life from a different perspective. She came into my life after an injury that set my hopes of making it to the NBA right away a figment of my imagination. My injury kept me away from basketball for 8 months.

During this time I began focusing on my mental strength. I began to put more effort into being a student then I had ever done before and it was worth it. The University of Nevada Las Vegas was the school I chose to sign with and by the grace of God I made it there even though I had suffered a bad injury. During my UNLV days I made the All-Academic Conference Team and the Dean’s List with a 3.6 GPA. This was the first time in my life I proved to myself that I wasn’t just a basketball player. Still to this day that is one of my proudest moments. Now that I was a Student-Athlete I was in a completely different space mentally. But one thing was missing, my game wasn’t the same trying to come back from the injury I sustained in junior college. I had an amazing coach, Lon Kruger, who wanted me to play a position I wasn’t accustomed to playing. Instead of being a guard, he saw me as a power forward. At the time I couldn’t understand it but I learned how to add other dimensions to my game. This was probably one of the best transitions I could have made because it has made me an unstoppable FORCE. Although I struggled my junior year finding my role on the court we were able to win the Mountain West Conference Championship and we made the Sweet 16 my senior year. This is the year I won MVP for my team. The Runnin’ Rebels hadn’t made it that far in 15 years.

After UNLV I had the opportunity to play in the D-League for 1 season. Then I began playing overseas. My first year over the water was in South Korea and from then on I’ve been in Japan. I thank God that I have had such an impact in the BJ League and my fans are truly dedicated. They have held me down through a Championship, MVP, and voted me in every year for the ALL-STAR team. As I traveled further down this career path it became apparent that my body needed proper nutrition and supplements to keep me feeling young, light, and for proper fueling. My wife has always been able to give me the proper nutrition I need and been my shooting and conditioning coach but we still were noticing that I needed more. Last year she joined the Five Star Health team and began her business in USANA and it has forever changed my perspective on vitamins. I’m just reaching the top of my career and consider myself a veteran but I still have the same abilities I’ve always had and plan on enhancing them further. I feel like USANA is slowing down the time-clock on the age of my body. Now I recover faster and nagging injuries don’t hinder me as long. These results have come in less than 1 year on USANA’s HealthPak, BiOmega, Procosa, Visionex, and CoQuinone 30.

My wife and our mentor Gina Hunter introduced me to the business opportunity USANA offers and I was skeptical at first. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to distribute vitamins. I knew I believed in the product but was unsure if this was the right avenue for me. We prayed about it and realized that now is the time to begin working on a second career for me. EVERY athlete has to come to the realization that we are always 1 injury away from our careers being over. Then you have to ask the question, “AM I READY IF/WHEN THAT HAPPENS?” For the majority of us, the answer is “NO”. I won’t accept that. My mission is to help other men and women who are in my exact situation. We can’t afford to wait until our careers are over to begin down a new path. I truly believe the best decision is for us to get involved with USANA now!!! It’s all about giving the product the opportunity. Then I guarantee your belief will GROW.
