Gina Hunter is a native of San Antonio earning her bachelor’s degree from Trinity University while playing tennis and her masters in Educational Leadership from Texas A & M San Antonio. Gina has an active little guy and works hard to stay healthy just to keep up with him. Gina firmly believes that children follow what’s modeled for them and is happy that her son already values eating healthy and being active. Gina grew up the 2nd of seven children where her mother was widowed during Gina’s junior year in high school. She has a very strong faith and believes in family and in the importance of living in a constant state of gratitude. Gina was taught that all people are equal and to always treat others with respect and honor. She was that kid always running around the neighborhood very active and loving the outdoors. She loves to play pretty much all sports and enjoys snowboarding when up in one her favorite places on earth, Breckenridge, Colorado. She loves the beach and the mountains and has a knack for falling in love with every place she visits and their culture. Gina’s a local business owner, a world traveler and has a passion for helping others ranging from her 20 years of coaching to interning at the United Nations in the Center for Human Rights. Children’s Hunger Fund is her favorite charity to volunteer and donate. Gina is a pioneer in integrating sports and family nutrition into youth sports organizations and working with local middle and high schools, and training coaches on the importance of nutrition education. As a coach, she is well respected and has taken her basketball and volleyball teams to the NAIA regional and national tournaments, Junior Olympic national tournaments, and won several district level championships. She’s the co-founder of Five Star Health which provides free nutrition education to the sports, education and businesses. This past year, she secured a key partnership with the San Antonio Scorpions FC working with the athletes individually and collectively as well as their youth camps educating them on nutrition. It’s no coincidence that the SA Scorpions won the NASL Championship with Five Star Health playing a key role in the team’s success. Gina is a hard-working, dedicated and a passionate person focused on making a positive impact around the world. Five Star Health is her passion and she completely believes in both the vision and mission of helping build something significant that people across the world can become a part of to help them achieve their dreams and goals.
